The Maternal and Child Health Handbook [BOSHI KENKO TECHO]
If you are confirmed pregnant, you should notify your local government, after which you will receive the Maternal and Child Health Handbook for free. This Handbook is usually in Japanese, however some local governments will also issue it in other languages. The Handbook is used for recording pre- and post-natal checkups, as well as keeping track of the child’s vaccinations and checkups. You must show this Handbook each time you or your child gets a health check, including when you go to the hospital to give birth, so please be sure not to lose it.
